Adult Services
Musical socialization groups are now forming for adults with developmental delays over the age of 21. This group will be facilitated by a board certified music therapist (MT-BC) who has previous experience working with adults in both the familial home and the group home setting.
Participants can expect:
- musical improvisation
- composition/songwriting activities
- movement and dance
- music facilitated discussion
- music facilitated relaxation
- song singing
Emphasis will be placed on:
- language and communication skills
- assertiveness
- self confidence
- problem solving
- building peer relationships and relating to others
- dealing with difficult emotions
- fine and gross motor skills
- self expression
- building a support system outside of the home
- decreasing stress and anxiety
