Experience:

  • Experience with individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses, addictions and psychosocial challenges, children and adolescents on the autism spectrum and with developmental delays, and hospitalized pediatrics and their families

  • Expertise in working with the voice, classically trained, performed in bands, and has an extensive musical theater background

  • Treats the voice as another musical instrument and believes in the direct connection the body and psyche have to the vocal instrument and continues to explore this with her clients through song and improvisation

  • Works with Music Together® on their MTWT program with other music therapists

  • Developed a model for adapted and therapeutic voice lessons

  • Worked at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) on various inpatient units (cardiac, adolescent medicine, critical care, GI and oncology)

  • Experience with individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses, addictions and psychosocial challenges, children and adolescents on the autism spectrum and developmental delays, and hospitalized pediatrics and their families

 

Accomplishments:

  • Piloted a multi-media social music therapy group with higher functioning tweens on the autism spectrum at Tempo! Music Therapy Services

  • Piloted the Music Together Within Therapy® (MTWT) Program at CHOP with cardiac patients and families during the clinical testing stage

  • Presented on infant-directed singing to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unity (NICU) at CHOP

  • Co-presented on creative arts therapy interventions with adolescents on the adolescent medicine unit at CHOP

  • Presented on Music Together Within Therapy® groups for the Child Life, Creative Arts Therapy and Education Department at CHOP
