Gentle/Open Level 1 Yoga

Ages 14+

This class is appropriate for all levels of experience – from beginner to experienced. The focus of this class is on the connection between poses (asanas) and using/transferring your own body weight in flow sequences highlighting the classic asanas and sun salutations. Come dressed to be comfortable, to move, and to sweat. Please bring a yoga mat and towel if possible – but we have a select few community mats if needed! Please feel free to pass the word on to friends and family! These classes are open to the community at large and previous experience is not needed.

Individual and/or Adapted Yoga Session

Our individual yoga sessions are tailored specifically for each student and activities may vary. All sessions begin with centering and breathing exercises, include an integrated series of yoga poses (asanas), and end with relaxation. Specialized breathing exercises and relaxation techniques are tailored for each student to improve concentration. Yoga is practiced in a non-competitive manner with emphasis on optimal effort by the student.


Group Adapted Yoga Classes

These classes are designed to strengthen and stretch the entire musculoskeletal system, balance the nervous system, increase breathing efficiency, improve body awareness, improve communication skills, increase each student’s ability to self regulate, and provide a fun and engaging experience! Students will engage in a safe, gentle yoga practice through an integrated sequence of yoga poses (asanas) and breathing techniques. Students are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and dress in comfortable clothing, although a limited number of community yoga mats are available for use. Companions are welcome to attend with individuals with special needs.


Children’s Yoga Classes

Our children’s yoga classes are designed to support the child on a journey toward a mind that is both balanced and calm, and a body that this both flexible and strong. These classes will include yoga poses (asanas), breathing exercises, concentration games, and other techniques, while conveying lessons in self-expression, social skills, and positive thinking in a fun and safe environment. See you on the mat!


Restorative Yoga, Reiki, and Live Music

Join us for evenings of restorative yoga, reiki, and live music for parents and caregivers. All are welcome to attend – parents, teachers, therapists, and family!  No previous experience is necessary and the events are open to all level as any yoga pose may be adapted to each person’s body. Enjoy a relaxing evening with an extended deep relaxation. Be sure to check our calendar for upcoming dates!


Mindfulness Summer Camp

Tempo!’s Mindfulness Summer Camp has been designed to provide children with thoughtful and enriched opportunities to participate with other children in a small group setting with an emphasis on music, yoga, and art. Children will:

  • participate in 5-day sessions (Monday-Friday)

  • learn to safely express themselves

  • integrate mindfulness and awareness for themselves and others

  • engage in a fun and creative environment

  • engage their natural energy and enthusiasm through cooperative games and storytelling

  • experience daily rotations of music making, yoga and breathing, and art projects geared towards themes of acceptance, believing in your dreams, strength, peace and kindness


Mindfulness Mini Camp

Tempo!’s Mindfulness Mini Camp has been designed to provide children with thoughtful and enriched opportunities to participate with other children in a small group setting with an emphasis on music, yoga, and art. Children will:

  • participate in 2-hour session

  • Offered throughout the year, once per season. See Mindfulness Camp description above for an in-depth description.

Infant massage

Deepen your bond with your baby as you learn techniques that promote better sleep, ease digestion and reduce stress hormones. Learn how to massage your baby’s body from head to toes, all the benefits of infant massage including what oils to use and best time to massage your baby. By incorporating a gentle touch and reflexology in a loving, fun and one- on-one interaction you will nourish your baby’s mind, body and spirit.

This series is developed for babies from newborn through crawling, but you will also learn how to adapt your massage as your baby grows. Infant Massage is also a great way to connect with other parents with young babies and share the challenges and joys of parenthood.
